Annapurna Trekking Gains Popularity as Season Starts

As the tourism season approaches, the Annapurna trekking route gets busy with activity, hosting about 150 hikers every day. This breathtaking route, known for its amazing views, is quickly becoming one of Nepal’s most popular trekking destinations. It is gaining more popularity like another peak trial.

Bhupendra Gurung, Chief of the Tourist Information Centre at the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) in Manang, discovered a considerable rise in visitor numbers. So far in 2024, more than 12,355 hikers have explored the region, up from 10,897 in the same period last year. The increase reflects the routes are popular among adventure enthusiasts from all around the world.

Local hotels are benefiting from this inflow, with greater occupancy rates and more economic activity along the hiking trail. According to Bhupendra Gurung, the Chief of the Tourist Information Centre at the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), the majority of tourists come from France, followed by Israel, Germany, and India.

The trail attracts trekkers due to its breathtaking Himalayan views and beautiful mountainous scenery. Many people are beginning on the well-known trek through the Thorang La Pass, which leads to the Mustang before continuing to Pokhara. With its unmatched natural beauty and rich cultural experiences, the Annapurna trekking route is still a must-see destination for anybody wishing to discover Nepal’s treasures.
