Nepal U17

Nepal’s U17 football team has successfully secured a spot in the SAFF Championship semi-finals. In their last match, Nepal won 2-1 against Bhutan at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimpu on Wednesday night. Despite Bhutan’s advantage in the first half, the team recovered to secure victory.

Bhutan’s Chimi Tobden Dorji scored in the 43rd minute giving the home team a 1-0 lead at the break. However, Nepal responded swiftly in the second half, equal in the 56th minute with an incredible free kick by Krishna Bahadur Ale.

The game-deciding goal was done by Sujan Dangol with the assists of substitute goalie Bhakta Bahadur Pariyar in the 84th minute. They easily chipped the ball over Bhutan’s goalkeeper. Despite nine minutes of extended time, the team held their ground and won.

Nepal will now face India in the semi-final on September 28.
