
Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has seen a rise in flights, breaking the record with a total of 559 operations in one day. This consists of 227 domestic flights and 56 overseas arrivals. TIA Director Rinji Sherpa stated that the latest figures may reflect the largest number of flights in a single day. The airport’s ability to manage greater demand during difficult circumstances.
The number of air passengers in has grown significantly as a result of recent road conditions. It was caused by landslides and flooding. Heavy rains on September 27 and 28 blocked critical routes leading to Kathmandu, causing many visitors to travel by using flight.
To deal with the issue, the TIA has scheduled 169 domestic arrivals and departures today, as well as 58 foreign flights. The increase in air travel highlights the essential role airlines play in connecting people when ground transit is unavailable. It is mainy during the current festival season.
