Jazzmandu, Nepal’s symbolic jazz festival, will have its 20th edition in Kathmandu. It will be held from October 24 to October 30, 2024. This year’s festival celebrates two decades of jazz and cultural fusion. There will be international musicians like Erik Truffaz from Switzerland, Sheroes from the United States, Germany’s Alma Naidu, and Spain’s Antonio Lizana Quintet. Nepalese performers like Cadenza Collective and Samundra Band will also play.

The festival kicks off with “Jazz for the Next Generation” at St Xavier’s School, Jawalakhel, on October 24. The “Jazz Bazaar,” will be held on October 26 at Gokarna Forest Resort. It provides a one-of-a-kind outdoor experience. Another important event, “Sounds of Flamenco Jazz and Afro-Beat,” will take place on October 28 at Nanglo’s Lawn in Jhamsikhel. The big finale is scheduled for October 30 at the Malla Hotel in Lainchaur.

The festival encourages diversity by offering free programs and seminars to students and local musicians.
