It will also focus on the efforts of more than five hundred people involved in the commercial farming of oranges in these regions. According to Ribdikot Chairperson Narayan Bahadur Karki, the festival’s goal is to increase orange sales to the point of excess in order to encourage farmers and improve cooperation.
There will be a variety of products made with oranges, such as fresh juice, jam, etc. Other citrus products like lemon, junar, and woody oranges will be on display too. Ward Chairperson of Ribdikot-7 Dan Bahadur Kunwar stated that the event would include live workshops on growing techniques, disease management, and marketing in addition to an orange nursery.
After last year’s success in Ribdikot, this partnered festival also emphasizes the increasing popularity of the region in terms of orange farming. As the Palpa district exported oranges worth Rs. 460 million last year, this edition aims to improve opportunities for local farmers and enhance the area’s position as a sincere participant in Nepal’s orange industry.
