Hima Rural Municipality was the first to declare its literacy on September 6 and opened the way for the broader declaration of the district. Chandannath Municipality now records the highest literacy rate at an impressive 98.91%, while Tila Rural Municipality, although seated lowest on the scale, still contributes a respectable figure of 95.4%.
Kanak Sundari Rural Municipality has also announced a literacy level of 97%, while Sinja follows with an impressive figure of 96.5. The rest—Tatopani, Guthichaur, Hima, and Patarashi Rural Municipalities—also surpassed 95%, showcasing consistent growth across the district.
Literacy was assessed using practical indicators such as reading or writing ability, understanding prices and bills, and having basic knowledge of mobile and calculator functions. This initiative signifies Jumla’s way of empowering his residents through education, a proud moment for the district.
