Changi Airport, a really busy and famous airport, wants to let people travel without using passports in 2024. They’ll use special technology that checks your face to let you through immigration. This means you won’t need a physical passport anymore. It’ll make things much quicker and easier for travelers. This change is meant to make the whole travel experience better for everyone.
Biometrics, such as face recognition, can be used to create a single authentication token for passengers that can be used at all computerized touch points, from baggage drop to immigration clearance and boarding. Physical tour paperwork, such as boarding passes and passports, will be obsolete.
The new strategy is intended to improve passenger flow and performance, as well as the overall tour experience for tourists.
