In a compassionate gesture towards earthquake survivors, the Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) has extended a generous contribution of over Rs 500,000 to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund. This substantial donation of Rs 555,555 aims to aid the affected regions of Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim, devastated by a 6.4 magnitude earthquake that claimed over 150 lives.
The catastrophic earthquake, originating from Ramidanda in Jajarkot district on November 3, has left a profound impact on these districts, necessitating urgent support for the affected communities.
Representatives from TAAN, led by President Nilhari Bastola, presented the cheque to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ on a recent Tuesday, showcasing solidarity and support for the government’s relief efforts.
Prior to TAAN’s significant contribution, various tourism-centric organizations joined hands, collectively donating cash and goods valued at Rs 3 million to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund the preceding evening.
This humanitarian initiative by TAAN and other tourism-related bodies not only reflects solidarity within Nepal’s community but also demonstrates a global commitment to aiding Nepal’s earthquake-stricken regions.
