
There were 79,101 foreign visitors to Nepal in January 2024 as compared to 24,236 in January 2023. A remarkable 54,327 more tourists arrived in this month than in the same year before.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board, 81,897 visitors departed the country in January. Of these, 24,139 Indian visitors arrived in Nepal, making up the largest group. This surpasses the 16,436 Indian visitors visiting Nepal over the same period in the previous year.
In January, Nepal welcomed 7,267 tourists from China, 7,447 from the US, and 4,619 from Thailand, totaling to 19,333 visitors.At the same time, 3,629 visitors were sent by Bangladesh, 3,421 by Australia, 2,029 by Bhutan, 3,812 by South Korea, and 1,568 by Japan.
There is hope for Nepal’s tourist development with the increase in visitors in January.
