New Hotel Opens at Kathmandu’s Gongabu Bus Park to Assist Late-night Travelers

Photo Location – Kathmandu’s Gongabu Buspark.

At night, a new hotel has opened inside the Gongabu Bus Park in Kathmandu. It’s there to help drivers, co-drivers, and passengers who arrive late. The chairman, Engineer Deepak Kunwar, said they got the idea from transportation entrepreneurs. The hotel offers food and rooms for people traveling long distances.

They’re also planning to add more services at the bus park soon. Right now, the park covers a big area and serves over 65 districts in Nepal, except for some in the far west. Before, places like Sindhupalchowk, Rasuwa, and Dolakha didn’t have good public transportation.

The land where the bus park is built belongs to Kathmandu’s city government. They gave it to Lotse Multipurpose Pvt. Ltd. to run under a partnership agreement. Lotse has set up ticket counters with modern technology. They’re also thinking about letting people buy tickets online in the future. The new bus park has space for more than a thousand buses, but only about three hundred to three hundred fifty are parked there now. Others park outside in different places.
