Flights between Pokhara and Jomsom Start Again After Three-Month Break

After being grounded for nearly three months due to bad weather, flights between Pokhara and Jomsom have now resumed.Summit Airlines restarted operations on March 1st, having suspended operations on December 6th of the previous year. Tara Airlines, which stopped its service on November 26, is also getting ready to restart flights.

The chief of Jomsom Airport, Hiron Shah, said that because the weather has improved and it’s now the tourist season, the flights have started again. Summit Airlines even made two flights on Friday.

The resumption of flights is good news for people in Mustang, as well as for pilgrims and tourists. This is especially helpful while the road in Myagdi is being upgraded.With the return of flights, more tourists are expected to visit Mustang.

In 2023, Mustang received about 91,000 foreign visitors, according to the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) in Jomsom.

Recently, more vehicles have been heading towards Mustang through the Beni-Jomsom road, especially as the temperature has been rising. This information was shared by Rajkumar Thapa, the chief of the District Traffic Police Office.
