For the first time, foreign tourists have visited the mysterious cave in Dhurkot Rural Municipality.
As a religious, historical, and tourist site, this marks the first time that 17 French citizens have come to see the cave.
After the arrival of a large number of foreign tourists, the Cave Committee and the Rural Municipality welcomed tourists by applying tikas and garlands, as informed by the Chairperson of the Rural Municipality, Bhupal Pokhrel.
Margot Linde, an 82-year-old French citizen, who visited the cave for the first time, expressed her immense joy. She was thrilled by the beauty and uniqueness of the place and plans to share her experience with others when she returns to her country.
She mentioned that the scenes inside the cave were very attractive and decorated naturally with various shapes. The tourists inside the cave danced and sang along with the beats of bhajans and songs.
This cave is located in Dhurkot-5, about five kilometers north of Tamghas, Gulmi. The location of the cave was first discovered in 2045 B.S. by local resident Janardan Bhandari, who placed a signboard indicating its presence. In recent times, due to the increased promotion both domestically and internationally, foreign tourists have also started to visit.
The promotion of this cave has not only been limited to the country but has also attracted foreign tourists. Though only one or two special events have occurred recently, many French citizens have been eager to visit the cave.
A team led by the guru Ramchandra Das of the Arvindra Ashram, at the urging of the locals, conducted a survey of the cave. The cave stretches to about 185 meters in length and 350 meters in width. The primary entrance of the cave, along with five additional natural doors, can be seen from the inside.
According to the locals, the cave was discovered in Asar of 2045 B.S. The natural beauty and greenery outside the cave have further enhanced its splendor. Additional attractions include various religious images carved into the cave walls.
For the development of the cave area, the Rural Municipality, Province, and the Federal Government have collectively invested more than Rs. 20 million, informed Prashanna Panthi, the Chief Administrative Officer of the Rural Municipality. The cave is located about 18 kilometers from Tamghas, the headquarters of Dhurkot Rural Municipality.
