June 7th, Kathamndu, Nepal: Popular drone company DJI collaborated with Nepali company Airlift and mountaineer Mingma G. for the first drone delivery test at Mt Everest.

This test was performed in April of this year, which provides a confirmation for the concept of applying drones to carry supplies to mountaineers in time and safely.

This amazing achievement was possible due to DJI’s Flycart 30, which has a maximum carrying capacity of 15 kilograms. The drone required the ability to carry the load safely and in difficult conditions at high altitudes.

During this test, DJI’s Flycart carried three oxygen bottles as well as 1.5 kg of additional supplies. It took off from Everest Base Camp, which is at 5300 m above sea level, to Camp 1, which is at 6000 m.

During its return, the drone carried 15 kg of garbage from Camp 1.

It is a great success for all those team members who worked on this project and hope to be more advanced so that it will be easier for all the Everest climbers.
