A direct train service connecting Janakpurdham in Nepal to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, India, is almost ready to start.
According to reports, the train service will start start soon. The train will depart from Janakpurdham every Saturday at 1:30 pm. Passengers will arrive in Ayodhya by 4:00 am the next morning. The return journey will begin at 5:00 pm from Ayodhya and reach Janakpurdham by 7:30 am on Sunday.
This new route will make it more convenient and comfortable for travelers to travel between these two sacred places. Janakpurdham is known as the birthplace of Goddess Sita, whereas Ayodhya is the birthplace of Lord Ram. The connection between these cities is extremely important to Hindus.
Previously, the train was set to start from Jan 22 from the day of Prana Pratistha of Ram mandir. But due to the security protocols during that day, Indian government cancelled the train service from Janakpur. Now, finally the government have settled the issues and the service is going to start very soon.
While an official launch date hasn’t been announced yet, it’s in the final stages. This development is sure to boost religious tourism and cultural exchange between Nepal and India.
