Today, Nepal and the Republic of Kiribati have diplomatic relations. With this, Nepal’s diplomatic connections with 183 nations have been established.
In a brief ceremony held at the Permanent Mission of Nepal in New York today, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Nepal, Lok Bahadur Thapa, and Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kiribati, Teburoro Tito, signed a Joint Communiqué with this effect.
Additionally, they each signed a letter notifying the UN Secretary-General that diplomatic relationships had been established between their two respective nations.
According to a statement released today by Nepal’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, based in New York, USA, both Ambassadors discussed a range of topics of shared interest that would improve mutually beneficial relationships in national and international events, particularly at the UN discussions, for the mutual benefit of the two countries, including the issues of the least developed countries.
