Nepal’s women’s football squad is preparing for an exciting SAFF Women’s Championship final. The final match is with Bangladesh on Wednesday at Kathmandu’s Dasarath Rangasala. Nepal is making its sixth appearance in the finals. In the previous match, the team lost a 1-3 setback to Bangladesh. With a home advantage and in top form,the team is looking to make history by capturing their first SAFF title.

Rajendra Tamang, Nepal’s coach, is positive in his team’s strategy and spirit. The team is more motivated from the recent semi-final victory over India. “We tried hard to fix our previous mistakes. “With our fans behind us, we are completely focused on the title,” Tamang stated. Sabitra Bhandari, Nepal’s star striker with 21 SAFF Championship goals, is expected to lead the team’ and become the tournament’s all-time leading scorer.
Captain Anjila Tumbapo Subba highlighted the importance of this match, stating, “Winning this title at home is crucial for the future of women’s football.”
Bangladesh, the defending champions, remains a strong opponent. Coach Peter James Butler pointed out his team’s preparation, stating that “attitude and focus will be key.” Captain Sabina Khatun expressed her intention to defend the crown and promised an interesting contest.
ANFA will oversee ticket sales for the Final.
In response to the semi-finals’ ticketing troubles, the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) will now manage final ticket sales directly. ANFA has already terminated its partnership with Mount Everest Sports and Events Pvt. Ltd. due to misuse of authority. Fans may buy tickets in person at Jawalakhel Sports Ground, ANFA Headquarters, and the Army Official Center in Bhadrakali beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
