The late snowfall has brought joy to local farmers, who are hopeful it will benefit their wheat, barley, and rice crops. For many of those living in the area, the snowfall meant good things to come concerning farming. Still, heavy flooding has again disrupted the people in Simikot and Chala, Limi, Hilsa, and Yari.
Cold Humla’s temperature has turned below freezing, indicating the arrival of colder weather. So the community is somehow disturbed but remains hopeful that it will turn out for the best in farming.
Simikot Airport is closed temporarily to flight operations as airport security is clearing the snow in the aftermath of heavy snowfall.
