Bahadur Magar, Chairperson of the National Human Rights Commission, opened the festival. He said films are powerful tools to highlight problems like child marriage, caste discrimination, and violence against women.
This year, the festival will screen 53 films from 23 countries, including Nepal. Notable films include Cannes award-winners “The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent” and “All We Imagine as Light”, along with Subina Shrestha’s Nepali film “Devi”.
Filmmaker Nilotpal Majumdar will also host a masterclass on telling local stories for global audiences. Visitors can enjoy film screenings, photo exhibitions, and discussions.
For 15 years, the festival has promoted human rights through the art of cinema, bringing people together for awareness and change.
