Bhutan’s first private airline, Thimphu-based Bhutan Airlines, is set to resume flights from September 13. This information was shared by Society International Travel Services, the official General Sales Agent (GSA) for this airline in Nepal. There will be four weekly flights from Kathmandu to Paro via Delhi on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.
The decision to restart these flights comes after Bhutan Airlines temporarily suspended its Kathmandu flights due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Bhutan Airlines, known as the “Thunder Dragon,” is committed to boosting tourism and strengthening Nepal-Bhutan relations. The airline initially began its Kathmandu flights in 2013.
Bhutan Airlines’ top executive, Pema Nadik, expressed their determination to operate regular flights even during challenging times.
