In a WAFF Women’s Championship semi-final match, Nepal secured a spot in the final by overcoming Lebanon with a 2-1 triumph.
A back pass by defender Pooja Rana accidentally ended up in the goal, giving Lebanon the lead for the first time in the 38th minute.
But Nepal rallied, and in the 76th minute Sabitra Bhandari tied the score at one.
The tension increased as extra time was called on in the game. Priti Rai scored a beautiful goal in a breath-taking moment to give Nepal a 2-1 lead.
After a corner kick was cleared, a well-executed shot outside the box scored the game’s winning goal.
With this win, Nepal is set to face Jordan in the WAFF Championship final.
Jordan secured their spot by defeating Palestine 5-0 in the first semi-final earlier in the day.
The final match is scheduled for next Thursday.
