The increased visitors have created a joyful atmosphere in the city, with businesses booming as families prepare for Nepal’s largest festival. Despite the crowds, traffic control professionals are working hard to guarantee smooth circulation, allowing shoppers and cars to easily navigate the busy roads.
Meanwhile, in the hills and villages around Kathmandu, traditional swings, or “ping,” are being set up as part of the Dashain celebrations. The image of youngsters joyfully playing on these swings serves as a lovely reminder of the festival’s rich cultural importance. It is said that playing on these swings during Dashain allows individuals to symbolically separate from their earthly concerns.
